Mobile detailing in Backwell.

The next village over from us, same postcode, five minutes down the A370. Backwell drives tend to be generous, which means we can do the work that actually needs space — full corrections, wheels off, the lot.

Backwell shares our postcode and most of our customers know us before they call. What is worth saying about the detailing here is that the space changes what is possible. A lot of BS48 properties have driveways with room to walk right round a car, and that is the difference between a compromise wash and a proper job. A machine polish needs to be worked from every angle in decent light; wheels-off work needs somewhere safe to put four wheels. On a Clevedon terrace we make it work. In Backwell we simply do it properly.

Local conditions

What the lanes do to a car.

The roads between Backwell, Chelvey and Brockley are working agricultural lanes, and the mud on them is not the same as road dirt. It is heavy, it holds moisture, and in summer it bakes onto sills and arch liners hard enough that pressure alone will not shift it without risking the paint underneath. The right approach is a long soak and a chemical decontamination rather than force — which takes patience, and is precisely why a supermarket jet wash makes a lane-driven car look worse over time rather than better.

The other lane problem is the hedge line. Single-track roads with tight passing places mean brambles and blackthorn down the flanks, and those leave fine scratches along the doors and rear quarters at exactly the height you notice them in low sun. Most of them are in the clearcoat and polish out completely. Deeper ones we will show you and tell you honestly whether they will come out.

What that space buys you

Jobs that need room to do properly.

  • Wheels-off work

Barrel cleaning, calliper coating and arch decontamination all need the wheels off and somewhere safe to put them. A driveway makes this routine; a kerbside bay makes it impractical.

  • Full corrections

Two days, working all the way round the car in daylight with room to step back and check the finish under different angles. Space is not a luxury here, it is what makes the result reliable.

  • Two cars at once

Common on Backwell drives with a household running two. Booking them together saves a whole setup and we can usually do a pair of valets in a day.

FAQ

Backwell questions.

You are basically local — do you do short-notice jobs here?

Backwell is five minutes away, so we can often fit a half-day valet into a gap at short notice. Full corrections still need a booked two-day window, but for anything smaller it is always worth ringing to ask what is free this week.

My car is covered in baked-on lane mud. Will jet washing sort it?

Not safely. Dried agricultural mud needs a long chemical soak to soften before anything touches it — trying to blast it off drags grit across the paint and is a reliable way to put swirls into sills and lower doors. Leave it on and we will deal with it properly.

Can you get hedge scratches out of the doors?

Most of them, yes. Fine bramble marks sit in the clearcoat and come out with a single machine stage. If a scratch catches your fingernail it has gone deeper than the clearcoat and polishing will improve it but not erase it — we will tell you which is which before starting rather than after.

Do you cover Farleigh, Downside and West Town?

Yes, all BS48 and all standard coverage. Chelvey and Brockley too, and the lanes across towards Backwell Common.
